For fifty years, Susan B. Anthony struggled to gain women the right to vote. When she died, most thought that the "Chamption of Lost Causes" had failed.

However, her efforts lit a spark that would trigger women marching all over America in Susan's name, trying to gain the right to vote. When the 19th Amendment was passed, they called it the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.

The Susan B. Anthony Story is the story of this courageous woman and her role in the early women's rights movement. We will meet Susan through the eyes of a young girl from our own time - a young girl who feels her life is a "lost cause."

The young girl is catapulted into the past by entering a mysterious library, so that she can meet Susan B. Anthony herself and learn that the only "lost causes" are the causes we don't fight for.

This DVD comes with a Teacher and Student Handbook with contains lessons and activities to help reinforce what is taught in the video. Vocabulary, history, and other subjects are taught through activities, games, quizzes, and even suggested field trips.

The Susan B. Anthony Story has earned the following honors and awards:

  • Emmy Award Winner - Best of Educational/Instructional Programs
  • Gold Camera - US International Film Festival
  • Bronze Finalist - Telly Awards
  • Booklist - Starred Review & Editor's Choice
