The book of Ruth is about an ordinary family that finds itself in extraordinary circumstances. A remarkable testimony of great obedience and faith, the story of the biblical Ruth is a message for the entire family!

When the Israelite Naomi and her two Gentile daughters-in-law are left as widows in a foreign land, Naomi begs them to care for themselves by returning to their own people. Orpah agrees, but Ruth declares that she will never forsake Naomi, saying, "Where you go, I will go. Where you live, I will live. Where you die, I will die. For your people are my people, and your God is my God."

Ruth accompanies Naomi back to her homeland, finds favor as she requests permission to glean in the fields, and falls in love with her near kinsman, Boaz. Ruth’s faithfulness and honor to Naomi are rewarded with her marriage to Boaz; Naomi’s faithfulness and love for the Lord are rewarded with the birth of a grandson, (which indicates that her husband Elimelech’s line is continued). A love story for all ages!
