I cannot recommed this and all of the DVD's in the New Testament series. I have watched them on the BYU channel and been priveleged to see this one and all the NT series. It is my considered opinion that whoever is involved in this is doing a great work for the Kingdom of God. I am amazed at how touching, and tender these stories are and in addition the truths that are taught. Thank you, thank you again for the time and trouble taken to make these movies.

We used this in children's church on Easter and it was wonderful. It set an appropriate pace for the rest of the day which, often, can get off target with Easter Egg Hunts, etc. Both children and adults will love this video. We recommend "He Is Risen"

"I ordered the DVDs for my son, Christopher, who will be three years old this coming April. When I sat down to watch He Is Risen with him, he said he wanted to watch - A Land before Time DVD. He didn't want to watch a cartoon about "Jesus". I told him he would like it and that Jesus is God's son who loves us all and that this was a story about Jesus loving us all so much that he died for us. He watched & began asking questions - only two and a half and asking why are they killing Jesus? Why did Jesus died? It was a very moving experience. I thank you and look forward to the other stories. It is times that you allowed us to share that gives Life so much meaning. Thanks for your awesome movie!" -Gerard M. Doran

"Until I ordered 'He is Risen', I never thought it possible that my 3-year-old and my 20-month-old could sit still for five minutes, much less 25 minutes or more. When we first got the DVD, my kids would watch it two to three times in a day. Now, they watch it at least six times a day. Every day!!!"

He is Risen is an accurate narrative that helps children understand Christ's resurrection and ascension into Heaven. Use this interactive Bible video to teach the story of the greatest miracle of all— the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Jesus, the Disciples, Mary Magdalene, Pontius Pilate and Caiaphas

Scripture References:
Matthew 26-27, Mark 14:26-16:20, Luke 22-24 & John 18-21

Overall Theme:
Jesus dies on the cross and is buried in a sealed tomb only to be raised on the third day, celebrated as Easter morning. Appearing to the Disciples and His followers, Jesus compels them with the message that they must spread His teachings, and make disciples of men, then Jesus ascends into Heaven.

Summary:
A young boy, Daniel, witnesses the death of Jesus by crucifixion on Calvary where a Roman Centurion confirms, "Truly this man was the son of God." Storms rage and an earthquake shakes the land at Jesus’ death.

Daniel hurries back to the Disciples, who are hiding from Roman soldiers, with the news of Jesus’ death. Meanwhile, Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus prepare Jesus’ body, bury it in a tomb cut into a hillside and cover the entrance with a huge stone.

Caiaphas, the Pharisee high priest, who did not accept Jesus as the Messiah, visits Pontius Pilate, counseling Pilate to seal the tomb since Jesus’ followers said He would rise from death on the third day. Pilate agrees and posts guards, but angels appear and the tomb splits open in a glorious burst of light. Jesus first appears to Mary Magdalene when she visits the empty tomb. Then Jesus appears to the Disciples. He entrusts Simon Peter to take care of His "lambs and sheep", and preaches for 40 days, asking His followers to teach His words to all peoples, everywhere.

His mission on earth completed, Jesus ascends into heaven in a stirring climax to the video, telling His followers He will come again. "Come quickly, Lord Jesus," says the boy Daniel. "I’ll always be watching for You."

Background:Celebration of Good Friday and Easter commemorates Jesus’ death and resurrection – the core of Christianity. Jesus died to break the power of sin and to restore our relationship with God. The resurrection assures us of our eternal life-victory over death, symbolizing hope for all humanity. Jesus called His Disciples to spread the good news of the Gospel, a call that speaks to us today.
