The children will estimate how many loaves and fishes it took to feed the five thousand people.

Activity

The children will grasp the magnitude of the miracle of feeding five thousand people by figuring out how many loaves and fishes God multiplied from the original five loaves and two fishes to feed all of the people. Remember there were twelve baskets left over. Think possibly of each basket holding ten loaves of bread and each person eating one half a loaf of bread and one fish. Let each child share how they came up with their answer.
