Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809-April 15, 1865) was born in Hardin County, Kentucky and served as the 16th President of the United States. An outspoken challenger of the institution of slavery, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and promoted the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1865. He also was responsible for the Proclamation of Thanksgiving.

Lincoln’s administration is credited with issuing the first national Greenbacks (paper money), setting up the Department of Agriculture, and imposing the first income tax

Let me take a moment to commend you for a job well done in the production of The Animated Hero Classics. I am the father of three beautiful girls, ages 7, 6 and 2. All three of them love to watch the DVDs and have found them very entertaining. The quality of the animation, music and storylines keep their attention. As a parent, I have especially appreciated the educational aspects of this series, but I must confess that I have enjoyed watching them as much as my kids. I have sent numerous DVDs with my oldest daughter, Sarah, to school on Columbus Day, Thanksgiving week and Presidents' Day. She has shown them to her class and has even scheduled several classes together to watch them. I can't tell you how much children, teachers and parents have commented on these DVDs. It is so refreshing to know that there is a series like this to help teach my children the principles and values that are so important to us as a family. This series has helped my wife and I make learning fun for our kids. We highly recommend your series to all our friends and anxiously look forward, each month, to receiving our new DVD.
